What is a Countable Noun?

Countable Noun is a type of noun in which we can count the number of things, places, etc. In other words, countable things are usually “Count Nouns” or “Countable Nouns”. They can have Singular and Plural forms.

Usually, the Noun is categorized into two types, ie. Countable Noun and Non – Countable Noun.

For example: car – cars, plane – planes, pen – pens, cycle – cycles, book – books, cat – cats, shop – shops, ball – balls, hat, hats, gun – guns, etc.

Countable Noun as Singular Form

1) You can use the words like some, more, few and many.

Example Statements:

  1. Raju got more presents this Christmas.
  2. I don’t have any idea regarding this topic.
  3. I have some relatives in London.
  4. Only a few of my friends attended my birthday party.

Example Statements:

  1. I am not an introvert.
  2. Can you purchase me a book for now?
  3. Can I have a slice of bread?
  4. I would like to eat an apple after having lunch.

Countable Noun as Plural Form

If Countable Nouns are Plural, then don’t use any articles like “a” and “an”. Just leave as it is.
